London Fashion Weekend 2014

As the buzz of London Fashion Week comes to a close, the walls of Somerset House open themselves up for the general public, allowing us regular folk to have a chance in joining in on the fun too.

Thus commences London Fashion Weekend.

It is located in beautiful and grand Somerset House, whose structure most definitely exudes an air of importance. Walking through the archways my eyes were greeted by a wave of inspiration, caused by the endless creative and exciting outfits all around me.

If there was any time to not be shy, that time is fashion week.
I was basically just looking around going YAAAAASS.

Lining up for the show
All over Somerset House were shops for everyone to browse through. After heading straight for the goody bags (real reason I went) (jk) (but seriously), next up on the agenda was to line up for the runway show.

❤❤❤ shoutout to my sis for helping me take pics ❤❤❤

lil' sneak peak of my outfit

Once inside, a herd of photographers stood at the end of the runway, preparing to take photos of the show.
It was like being greeted by paparazzi. I was strutting to my seat like 2 famous 4 U sir

The urge to just power walk down that runway was real.

The show was sponsored by net-a-porter.com and portrayed 4 of the most popular trends that recurred on the runways this fashion week. These included 'One and Only', 'Candy Crush', 'Jungle Fever' and 'Fairytale Ending'.

Okay okay soz for rambling. On with the show!

THIS DRESS THO

Now on to the good part, what I wore. Of course this was the first thing I thought about when purchasing tickets.

I debated through many different outfits, wondering whether I should go for something crazy fancy, or something cool and simple.

But this was fashion week, literally all about showcasing clothes, so if you don't go big or go home here, where will you?

Either way, I ain't about that simple life, so I went for something a lil' bit funky , whilst still keeping it wearable (I meannnn, I did have to get on the tube and walk around in it).

Dress: Lazy Oaf
Lace Maxi Skirt: Urban Outfitters
Jacket: From a theme park about 10000 years ago (lol)
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Lita

This bodycon turtleneck dress from Lazy Oaf is one of my fav pieces. If my life had a logo, it would be this print. It has the world LAZY plastered on the front, which obvs perfectly represents me (lazy Mariah, hi).
Not only that, but it features an all over Pepsi print! Not only does this look absolutely craaay, but it also gets me very excited as I have an unhealthy Pepsi addiction. YAY. If it's black and fizzy, I'll drink it. So naturally I cried when I first saw this.

I paired the dress with this sheer black lace skirt as I ain't about that bodycon life. The skirt also adds a little more modesty, yet because it's sheer, it still showcases the awesome dress. The lace also adds some texture to an all solid silhouette.

Mainly, I just think the skirt makes the outfit 10 times more interesting, don'tcha think?

Not knowing what London's unpredictable weather would grace me with, I added a jacket for some warmth.

This jacket is da bomb tho. The denim makes my out-there outfit more casual. Plus, it's over sized fit adds more width to my otherwise streamline outfit, making it flow better.

Last but not least, my pièce de résistance were my delectable red velvet Jeffrey Campbell Litas.
My life, my loves, their redness matching my dress was actually a full on coincidence. So was the blue of my denim jacket btw. WOO COHESION.
They add to the look, as well as give me height. They also make me drool.
